Hi there, I am Paco Alcantara. Born in Puebla, Mexico in 1980. I first came to Japan as a university student back in 2001. After graduation in 2004 I started working for the Japanese Government as a Coordinator for International Relations. During that time I started in landscape photography. Back in 2008 I left Japan in order to study a masters in Brisbane, Australia and that is also when I started into professional wedding photography. In 2010, after finishing my masters I came back to Kyoto and currently work as a photographer and web applications developer.

フランシスコ(パコ)・アルカンタラと申します。メキシコ、プエブラ市1980年生まれ。2001年同志社大学に留学。2004年卒業後、和歌山県庁で「国際交流員」として３年間勤務。その頃風景写真の撮影を始めました。2008年オーストラリアのブリスベン市の大学院へ進学。同時にウェディング・フォトグラファーとして活動開始。大学院卒業後2010年、日本に戻る。現在京都市で写真家、ウェブ開発者として活動中。

¡Hola! Soy Paco Alcántara. Nacido en Puebla, México en 1980. La primera vez que vine a Japón fue como un estudiante universitario en el 2001. Después de graduarme en el 2004 comencé a trabajar para el Gobierno Japonés como Coordinador de Relaciones Internacionales. Durante ese tiempo nació mi interés en la fotografía de paisajes. Para el 2008 dejé Japón para estudiar una maestría en Brisbane, Australia y ahí fue cuando comencé a dedicarme como fotógrafo profesional en bodas. Terminé mis estudios de maestría y en el 2010 regresé a Kioto, Japón en donde actualmente trabajo como fotógrafo y desarrollador de aplicaciones web.

My photos are taken using a technique called -candid photography-. Which is a non-intrusive method that does not require poses or pre-arranged postures. It produces images that may appear as if there was no camera around. That helps recreate a better and more accurate projection of a person's real character, traits and personality.

私の撮影方法はcandid photographyと呼ばれているテクニックを使っています。前もってポーズを付けたりせず、まるで隠し撮りされた写真のように…つまり、撮られている人が撮影されていることに気が付いていないような、リアルで自然な写真が出来上がるのです。

Mis fotografías son tomadas con una técnica llamada -fotografía cándida-. Este es un método no intrusivo y discreto que prescinde de poses y posturas planeadas. El resultado son imágenes en las que parece que no había una cámara alrededor. Esto permite recrear una óptima y más exacta proyección del carácter, personalidad y rasgos de una persona.
